Assessment collection time is right around the corner. Our covenant mandates assessments shall be paid by the owner of each lot to the Association within 15 days after January 1 of each year. Revenue from our assessment provides funds for subdivision maintenance, improvements, and a reserve fund. With that said; the initiative to modify our communities perimeter wall is the associations next target. Over the past few years bids were solicited to heighten the wall. The estimates received range from 58 thousand dollars and higher. Accumulating revenue for this major project is a mid-range (5 yr.) to long range (10 yr.) goal. However, it is achievable. The push to do something about the wall is brought about by another vehicle crash into the wall a few months ago. Increasing residential and commercial growth along FM 78 has all of the ingredients for more accidents with the potential for higher fatalities and property damage. This will be an agenda item at the upcoming town hall meeting. Some Pro/Con points, Pro: reduced long-term maintenance cost, increased privacy and security, aesthetically pleasing, less penetrable by auto crashes, and improved noise reduction qualities. Con: project cost The Board of Directors seek your opinion on this and all other matters that effect Fairways of Woodlake II. Contact a board member or Maribel if you know a contractor that is reasonable and stands behind their workmanship.
