Town Hall meeting stimulated new ideas
By Greg Johnson

(Town Hall continued from page 3)

Much internal discussion, requests and comments from homeowners, concerns about opposition to include the support for a wall improvement were considered.  The BOD believes money or cost is the main reason individuals may oppose this initiative.  Which is why the board approved a less aggressive revenue building plan, a $175 increase this year with gradual increases over as many as eight years.  It was announced from the floor the amortization period was too long and suggested it should be done in about two years.  Another homeowner suggested we use a monthly payment plan starting in 2005 to collect the required funds.
Both ideas were accepted by the members in attendance of the December meeting.  The board took the ideas as an action item to develop the framework for the proposals.  The ideas from floor bring the wall improvement to a short to medium term goal.  There were questions such as, are there any other financing alternatives and how was the cost obtained.  Financing was not considered because of past exploration results.  And CHOA has obtained several contractor bids over the years.
The meeting was adjourned after a report of the streetlight not working on the corner of Congressional and Legend Rock, that has been reported to CPS.
